Emergency Travel Insurance Features
  • Reimbursement of 80% of the round-trip coach air and/or train fare, not to exceed $1,500
  • Four flexible coverage options:
    1. You for your immediate family;
    2. Your spouse for his/her immediate family;
    3. You for your spouse's immediate family and/or your spouse for your immediate family; or
    4. Eligible dependent(s) for both mother and father's immediate family
  • One reimbursement is allowed in a 12 consecutive month period
  • Only $2 per pay period for each of the first three options
  • Only $1 per pay period for each eligible dependent(s)
  • Pre-existing conditions do apply for the first 12 months of coverage. An immediate family member cannot have received advice or treatment for a condition diagnosed during the 12-month period immediately preceding the effective date of coverage. After the first 12 months, the pre-existing condition would be covered
  • Eligible participants are Intelligence Community employees and retirees. Also contractors and military assigned to NSA-W.
  • Travel is for serious illness or death of a listed immediate family member
  • Serious illness: Defined as a medical condition that by customary practice of the medical profession warrants placing the patient on the critical list and warrants a recommendation by a physician that you or an eligible dependent should be in attendance.
  • Immediate family member includes: Spouse/domestic partner, parents and grandparents, children and grandchildren, brothers and sisters, brothers and sisters-in-law (spouse of blood relative), sons and daughters-in-laws. Adopted foster and step members of the family are also included in immediate family.

  • GEBA self-insures and administers this plan.
