GEBA has replaced the GIC with its Stable Value Account (SVA), which is a low risk, high-quality investment designed for IRAs and annuities. It seeks a stable rate of return and to preserve book value (principle and accrued interest). It offers similar returns to the GIC but pays a rate that adjusts with market rates.
