Effective March 1, 2010, as an employee of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA), you have the ability to enroll in any of GEBA’s insurance or investment plans. What does this mean to you?
This means that you, as a DISA employee, can now get the same great member benefits that our members have been receiving for over 50 years!
These benefits and their options are only available between March 1st and April 30th with GUARANTEED APPROVAL. Although, you can enroll in Term Life Insurance and Long-Term Disability all year, medical underwriting will be required after this enrollment period.
- Delta Dental® Plan: Gives you 2 plan options and the largest dental network available today;
- Term Life Insurance: Obtain $250,000 of term life insurance (or $50,000 for your spouse) with NO medical underwriting;
- Long-Term Disability: Get a monthly benefit of $1,000 with NO medical underwriting if you should become unable to work and earn a living.
You can also enroll into any of GEBA’s other insurance investment plans. Our plans were designed with you, the member, in mind.
Insurance Options
Long-Term Care Insurance:
This comprehensive, individually underwritten, plan provides benefits for care received in your home, in an assisted living facility and in a skilled nursing home. After a meeting with our Long-Term Care specialist, a policy will be tailored to meet your specific needs with a premium discount included because of your membership with GEBA.
Emergency Travel Plan: This is an inexpensive insurance plan that reimburses you up to 80% of the cost of round-trip air or train fare when you travel as the result of a very serious illness/injury or the death of an immediate family member.
Professional Liability Insurance: Specifically designed under the advice of the Justice Department to protect federal government employees, this plan pays the full cost of your legal defense and covers the expense of damages awarded against you up to $1 million. Limited to full-time Intelligence Community employees working at least 17.5 hours per week.
Vision Benefits: This plan covers annual vision exams, single-vision lenses, frames (every 2 years), contacts, plus savings on more complex lenses and laser vision correction.
Aflac Benefit Plans: Personal Cancer Protection Plan, Personal Accident Expense Plan, and Hospital Protection Plan. Your employer might provide you with medical insurance benefits, but they do not cover costs such as deductibles, loss of earning power, and other out-of-pocket expenses associated with an illness or accident. AFLAC policies pay cash benefits directly to you. AFLAC policies are individual policies typically sold only through an employer, but made available to the Intelligence Community through GEBA.
Veterinary Pet Insurance: Health Insurance for your pet provided by the nation’s oldest and largest provider. Choice of plans to cover your dog, cat, birds, or some exotic pets – each plan is discounted for GEBA members.
MetLife Auto & Home Insurance: Offered through MetLife, our auto & home insurance plan will give you great group rates for your car and/or home insurance! The home you live in and the vehicle you depend on should have insurance you can count on. MetLife Auto & Home offers comprehensive policies, competitive group rates and the expertise to help you make the right decisions.
Investment Options
IRA’s (Traditional or Roth): An IRA is an excellent way to save for retirement. You will benefit from tax deductible contributions and tax-deferred growth. An IRA is always a great addition to your retirement portfolio.
Non-Qualified Group Annuities: Our Group Annuities provide an excellent way for you to invest for your retirement. You will benefit from tax-deferred growth with no limit on annual contributions. You can invest as much as you like!
InvestorSure CD: The InvestorSure CD is a variable rate certificate of deposit indexed to the Standard and Poor’s® 500 Composite Index (S&P 500). Unlike many investments tied to the equity market, the InvestorSure CD does not risk your principal investment. What makes the InvestorSure CD so unique is that your principal investment will NEVER be at risk regardless of market conditions.
529 College Savings Plan: A 529 College Savings Program is a tax-advantaged college savings program that was created to encourage families to save for their children's higher education. Earnings grow tax-deferred and qualified withdrawals are tax-free. You can start saving NOW for expenses such as tuition, fees, room, board, textbooks and supplies.
Stable Value Account: The Stable Value Account is a low-risk, high quality investment that seeks to provide a stable rate of return and to preserve principal (plus accrued interest (book value)). It provides improved diversification in this volatile market as well as less volatile returns with less risk. Finally, it provides stable returns (returns similar to bund funds) with reduced volatility across market cycles.
GEBA Max Fixed Annuity: The GEBA MAX Fixed Annuity is a Flexible Premium Deferred Fixed Annuity offered by GEBA through Jackson National Life Insurance Company® (JNL).
