The GEBA Scholarship Foundation is proud to be entering its eighth year of helping deserving and diverse students pursue an eclectic range of academic pursuits. Since its inception, the Foundation has awarded 169 merit-based financial scholarships to very deserving students totaling $338,000.

For the 2013-2014 academic year, we will be awarding up to 25 scholarships - each worth $2,000. 

Applicants can only apply for one scholarship from one cateogry per year. Completed applications can be dropped off at the GEBA office by 4:00PM ET on March 29, 2013, or postmarked, emailed, or faxed by March 30, 2013. 

The scholarship categories are:

  • Academic - In this highly competitive category, applicants compete on the basis of academic performance and progress toward stated goals. 
  • Community - The Community Scholarship recognizes students whose outstanding contributions and leadership in the community are a part of their overall plan for success.
  • Vocational/Trade School Candidates for the Vocational Scholarship are engaging in a vocational school or an associates’ degree program that results in a degree leading directly to a career path.

Applicant Eligibility
: 

This scholarship money provides a way to reduce the financial burden on students and their families. Applicants:

  • Must be a full-time student who attend, or will attend an accredited educational institution offering credit towards recognized post-secondary degrees and credentials.1
  • Can be previous a GEBA Scholarship recipient. Winners can reapply each year, for a maximum of 4 GEBA Scholarship awards from any category. 
  • Can only receive one scholarship from the GEBA Scholarship Foundation per year. 


GEBA Member Eligibility:
 

Many of our members have taken advantage of this great benefit and have sponsored themselves or an eligible family member (i.e. spouse, child, stepchild, grandchild, or stepgrandchild). Eligible sponsors must be current members who have an active GEBA or GEMBA plan that has been in effect since December 31, 2009 or earlier.


How to Apply
:

  1. Download one of the 2013-2014 scholarship applications located on the right side of the page. Be sure to download the application in the appropriate category. You can also stop by the GEBA office to pick one up, or call
    (800) 826-1126 to have one mailed or faxed to you. 
  2. Completed applications can be submitted the following ways: 



 

Applications can be hand delivered to the GEBA office by 4:00PM ET on Friday, March 29, 2013. Active IC badge required.


 

Applications can be postmarked by March 30, 2013 and mailed* to:

*When choosing your shipping method, please be sure that it will be accepted by the USPS for a P.O. Box. 

Judging Party: 

As in previous years, a third party company, College Money handles the selection of the GEBA Scholarship Foundation recipients.

Working GEBA members who are part-time students may be eligible for GEBA's Fellowship for Working Professionals.
