Long-term Care is a growing concern among GEBA members because the costs associated with home health care and nursing home care are rising significantly; in fact, the cost of care in the Baltimore-Washington area is averaging $200 per day! Medicare's coverage is very limited and will not cover the majority of nursing home costs or those related to home health care.
GEBA's Long-term Care Insurance Plan was developed to provide you with flexible coverage that will meet your specific financial needs. Because every member is different, this program combines a tailored, individual policy with personal, confidential advice from specialists who will meet with you in the GEBA office. GEBA members receive a 5% discount.
How much will the coverage cost? How do I find out more?
Because the plans are individually written according to members' needs, your premium will depend upon certain factors determined by those specific needs.

The factors listed below will affect your premium:
- Age at the time of enrollment
- Daily Benefit ($50 - $500)
- Elimination Period (30, 60, 90, 180 or 365 days)
- Benefit Period (2,3,4,5,6, 10 years or lifetime)
- Inflation Factor (CPI, 5% simple, 5% compounded)
- Home Health Care Benefit (100% of nursing home benefit)
NOTE: Because of Privacy Laws, GEBA is prevented from making address changes or account changes to Long-Term Care Policies. If you are a Long-Term Care policyholder who is being billed by the carrier, it is necessary to contact the carrier directly.
