Guaranteed Investment Contract (GIC)




Tax-Deferred Growth & Fixed Rate of Return

The Guaranteed Investment Contract (GIC) is a five-year, fixed rate contract. The contract can be issued as either a Traditional IRA, Roth IRA, or a Non-Qualified Group Annuity account. Contract features are as follows: 
  • The 2008 GIC rate, offered through Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (MetLife), guarantees a rate of 4.95% for five years and matures 12/31/2012.
  • $25 minimum investment
  • Contributions can be a lump sum, payroll allotment, or auto debit from a checking or savings account.
  • Eligibility for the plan extends to the civilian employees and retirees of the United States Intelligence Community as well as military and contractors assigned to "NSA-W" headquarters, and their spouses.
  • If you would like to open an account, please complete GEBA's GIC Contribution Form. You can also make systematic contributions via automatic debit from your bank account by completing an Automatic Debit Form.
