Emergency Travel Plan
New enrollment in GEBA’s Emergency Travel Plan is temporarily suspended.
A Solution to the High Cost of Travel for Family Emergencies
When you least expect it, a family emergency can strike. You receive a call telling you a loved one has been in a serious accident, is gravely ill, or has passed away. Your only thought at this moment should be getting to your family as quickly as you can, not the high cost of a last-minute plane ticket.
That’s where GEBA’s Emergency Travel Plan comes in. If you’re far from family members or traveling when a family tragedy strikes, GEBA’s Emergency Travel Plan provides an affordable way to make sure you can be there to help when your family needs you. GEBA’s Emergency Travel Plan reimburses up to 80% of round-trip coach air or train fare to respond to the serious illness, death, or injury of a family member anywhere in the world.
This coverage is offered directly from GEBA, so you can count on fast, efficient claims processing and quickly issued payments.

Which family members can I visit?
The plan will reimburse travel costs to visit a spouse or domestic partner, parents, grandparents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. Adopted, foster, step, and in-law members of the family are also included in the definition of immediate family. This plan does not cover travel for your own illness. See Emergency Travel Plan Family Inclusion Chart for details.
