GEBA's Group Term Life Insurance Offers Benefits That FEGLI Doesn't.
Federal employees are given a lot of options for benefits that range from healthcare to life insurance. Evaluate your life insurance needs and consider GEBA. GEBA’s Group Term Life Insurance may be a cost effective way to supplement or replace your FEGLI. Find the right coverage for you and your family... with GEBA.
How Does GEBA Compare?
Up to $600,000 in Coverage Regardless of Pay - FEGLI, like most employer-sponsored life insurance plans, is based on your salary. With GEBA, you can apply for up to $600,000 in coverage regardless of pay.
You Can’t Take FEGLI With You - GEBA, like FEGLI, does give you the option to continue coverage into retirement. However, if you leave your job with the federal government, you can’t take FEGLI with you. The good news is that with a GEBA policy you can keep it as long as you continue to pay premiums.
No Open Season - At GEBA, there’s no open season. You can enroll anytime, and as your needs change you can simply apply for more coverage.*
Accelerated Death Benefit - A feature that can be used for whatever purpose you wish following a terminal diagnosis - pay medical costs, pay off your mortgage, or take the vacation of your lifetime with your family. The accelerated death benefit is included in GEBA's Group Term Life Insurance plan.
Covers Acts of War and Terrorism - Some life insurance companies may not be required to pay for a death related to or caused by acts of war and terrorism. Coverage for acts of war and terrorism is included in GEBA's Group Term Life Insurance plan.
Additional Coverage Options -
Spouse/Domestic Partner Optional Coverage— Your spouse or domestic partner, if under age 65, can apply for coverage, too! Coverage amounts up to $300,000 are available, or 100% of the member’s coverage, whichever is less.
Dependent Child Coverage— Your children (from live birth to 26 years) are each eligible for $20,000 in coverage.
GEBA Coverage is Competitively Priced
Each person's situation is unique -- your age, the level of coverage you need, marital status, and presence of children. To make your own comparison, use our GEBA vs. FEGLI calculator.
